Introduction

This privacy policy (the "Policy") relates to your personal data in connection with your use of and access to our social planning and meetup management mobile application, ‘Reune’ (the "Reune App"), available on both Google Play and the Apple App Store, as well as our website at https://reune.co.uk and any related website, subdomain, or other software application operated by us (collectively, the "Platform").

We are committed to protecting your personal data and your right to privacy. By using the Platform, you trust us with your information, and we take your privacy very seriously. We aim to explain in the clearest way possible what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it. Please take some time to read through this Policy carefully.

Changes to the Policy or Your Personal Data

We regularly review and update this Policy. It is your responsibility to stay informed of any changes. If you have questions or believe something is missing, contact us at info@reune.co.uk. Significant changes to the Policy will be communicated to you in writing. Ensure your personal data is accurate and up-to-date, such as when changing your email address.

About Us

The Platform is owned and operated by Reune Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14559721) with its registered office at Beech Cottage, London Road, RG278RN ("Reune", "we", "us", "our"). Reune is the data controller for your personal data. The term "you" refers to the user accessing or using the Platform.

Reune is a social planning app. Users can register (becoming "Registered Users"), send and receive friend requests, share calendars or event availability, and create or join events and groups. Users can also invite others to join Reune or specific events through external communication platforms.

How do we use your data?

In Short: We collect personal data that you provide to us, such as your name, email address, weekly availability data and location data while using our app.

When you use our Platform, we will collect personal data provided by you, including the following:

  • Personal Information: Your “nickname” and email address. We only process your personal data via our app if you have given us consent to do so.
  • Connection Data: Information about your connections when you add friends and interact with other Registered Users.
  • Location Data: If you give us explicit consent, we collect your geolocation (latitude and longitude) through various means like GPS and WiFi, depending on your device and service. (Not present in Version 1)
  • Camera Access (Non-Stored Data): The application requires access to your device's camera to facilitate the establishment of connections with other Registered Users via QR Code scanning (Note: This is the only process available to add friends on Reune Version 1.0.0). Notwithstanding, any data captured by the camera is not stored, recorded, or accessed by the application or the Platform at any time.
  • Availability Data: Reune collects availability data from users at the initial onboarding stage of the application and subsequently whenever users update their availability information during the app's usage. This data is utilised by Reune's algorithm to ascertain suitable times for social engagements among friends. This availability data is kept confidential and is not disclosed to any other Registered Users unless explicit consent is provided by the user.

To Send You Marketing Information:

If you have previously shown interest in our services (and have not opted out of marketing), we will use your name and email address to send you updates because it is in our legitimate interest to promote our other products and services that we think you might find interesting. As a Registered User who has opted in, we will use your data to send updates on our and/or third-party products and services, including offers and promotions, in line with your preferences. You can withdraw your consent to marketing at any time by contacting us at info@reune.co.uk or by following the unsubscribe link in any marketing communication you receive.

When You Contact Us:

When you contact us by email, through our 'contact us' page (on https://reune.co.uk), or via social media, we collect your name, social media handle, and contact details, as it is in our legitimate interest to ensure we can properly respond to your query.

When You Sign Up with a Social Login: If you sign up to the Platform through a third-party account or social networking service (such as Apple or Google), we may extract information from your Social Login account, such as your name, email address, photograph, event, and activity information, and other personal information that your privacy settings on the Social Login account allow us to access.

When You Use Our Website: With your consent, we collect information about how you use our website. This information helps us to improve our website and understand user behaviour better.

Who Do You Share My Data With?

In Short: We only share your information to comply with legal obligations, to protect your rights, fulfil our business obligations to you, or with your consent.

  • Promotional Events and Marketing Organisations: We do not sell your data for marketing purposes, but we may share your data with event organisers or partner brands if we co-host events or promotions. You will always be notified beforehand (typically on the event registration form) and given the option to opt-out.
  • Business Partners, Suppliers, and Subcontractors: We share data with business partners, suppliers, and subcontractors to fulfil contracts we have with them or you. This includes service providers who assist us with our operational needs and technology services.
  • Regulators, Authorities, and Enforcement Agencies: If required by legal obligation, or to enforce our terms of use and other agreements, we may disclose your personal data to regulatory authorities, law enforcement agencies, or other entities to protect the rights, property, or safety of our clients or others. This includes exchanging information with other organisations for fraud protection.
  • Prospective Buyers: If our business is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale, your data may be shared with prospective buyers as part of the transaction. This is done under our legitimate interest to ensure business continuity.
  • Aggregated, Anonymous Information: We may disclose aggregated, anonymous data (which does not identify you personally) to third parties, such as analytics and search engine providers, to improve and optimise the Platform. This ensures that no personally identifiable information is shared.

Is Your Data Transferred Internationally?

In Short: We may transfer, store, and process your information in countries other than your own, but we take all reasonable steps to ensure it is protected.

We store your data on third-party servers located both in the UK and in other countries. When working with these third parties, we may need to transfer your personal data outside the UK and/or the EU. We ensure that any data transferred outside of these regions receives the necessary protections as required by law. For more details on how we protect your data in these circumstances, please contact us at info@reune.co.uk.

Third-Party Websites

In Short: We are not responsible for the safety of any information that you share with third-party providers who are featured or advertise on our Platform.

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or advertisements from third parties not affiliated with us. We cannot guarantee the safety and privacy of any data you provide to these third parties. Any data collected by third parties is not covered by this Policy, and we are not responsible for the content or privacy and security practices of any third parties, including other websites, services, or applications that may be linked to or from the Platform. You should review the policies of such third parties and contact them directly if you have questions.

In some instances, we may anonymize your personal data so it can no longer be associated with you, and use it indefinitely for improving our services. You may review or change your account information at any time.

If you wish to terminate your account, select the “Delete account” option in the “Settings/Help/Delete Account” in the Reune App. Some data may be retained to prevent fraud, assist with investigations, enforce our terms, and comply with legal requirements. If we have no ongoing business reason to process your data, we will delete or anonymize it, or securely store it until deletion is possible.
